♦ Le Clos Bernard is a charming , restaurant set in the forest by the Meribel Altiport. It is reached by skis or by foot or by horse and carriage. It is open for lunch daily and also on Wednesdays and Saturdays for a set Savoyard dinner.
♦ The famous meal here is the steak cooked on an open fire inside. The terrace is wonderful on a sunny warm day.
This is a restaurant for a special occasion. It is not cheap but for a super steak lunch in very special surroundings it is worth the money.
♦ Do not drop in for a fast quick simple lunch. It is not designed for that. This venue is ideal for a long relaxed meal.
♦ Clos Bernard has built up a reputation very quickly so always reserve a table. My choice would be a late lunch after a great morning skiing in the Meribel Saulire / Courchevel region. Then drop down to the altiport for a well deserved relaxed lunch.
