MERIBEL BACKGAMMON COMPETITION 2011. FRANCE.

The Meribel International Backgammon Competition will be held again at the 3 Hotels Chaudanne, in Meribel Town centre. This, the 2nd International Backgammon competition will be held during 7th till 11th December 2011.

The brainchild of Clive Kay, (Barometer Bar) the first competition was such a great success that it seems likely to become an annual feature of the Meribel winter program of events.

BACKGAMMON THE GAME

Backgammon for all you newcomers is a superb game of luck and skill combined.

Backgammon has a long history dating back to the Ancient Greeks and the Romans.

Backgammon is still probably the most popular game in Greece, where each evening you will see it played in every Greek cafe frequented by locals.

It has recently enjoyed a great resurgence due to the internet. You can now play international backgammon with players from all over the world.
