♦ Le Clos Bernard is a unique & charming restaurant, set deep in the forest by the Méribel Altiport. It is reached by skis, by foot or horse and carriage. The restaurant is sign posted through the forest from the foot of the Loze chairlift. You can also walk to it from the altiport parking area. It is open for lunch every day and also on Wednesdays for a set Savoyard dinner and Thursday “Clos Bernard By Night” (grill thema).
♦ The famous meal here are the Angus steaks cooked on an open wood fire inside. The terrace is truly wonderful on a warm sunny day. This is a wonderful restaurant for that special occasion. It has a superb wine list too. It is not cheap but for a fabulous charbroiled steak lunch in truly beautiful surroundings it is well worth a visit.
♦ Do not drop in for a fast quick & simple snack. It is not designed for that. This is a venue for a proper relaxed lunchtime experience.
♦ Over just a few seasons Le Clos Bernard has built up a great reputation so always reserve your table in advance. My solution for a perfect day on the slopes? Ski till about 2pm in the Méribel Saulire / Courchevel region. Then drop down to Le Clos Bernard for a well-deserved super meal.
