18th Feb 2010. 10am.
Snow is still good, but of course very busy this school week on slopes so I have not been out for a few days. Weather has been mixed and today it is snowing with more light snowfalls forecaste. If driving be prepared for it Saturday, although last weekend was totally clear !! Don't trust the forecast 100% ! Just be prepared in case they are right one day.After 1 month of absolutely freezing temperatures they have now finally risen so more snow will be now possible.

Bookings are rolling in for the 13th and 20th March Meribel Festivals..2 weeks of Music and Comedy..non stop..fantastic..

Book sap for the best party period in the Alps this year. Snow,Sun and Fun..great.. Snow is usually excellent throughout March with hot afternoons for Apres Ski on the sun terraces..

Easter is looking lively..and look at my old Mole reports for April snow..incredible usually..!! Right up to the end..quiet slopes..fabulous snow above middle stations..

Live bands & restaurants etc..same as my recent old mole reports.. check them out..and pick up the Magazines when you arrive for reviews..(or just download a copy!)

Have a good trip..but lots of traffic this weekend..and next (Paris 2 weeks holidays) . Try to arrive early..beat the midday snarl up !!

Yes, It is still VERY cold so snow is now excellent in Meribel and all 3 valleys. Next week should see good conditions for the school holidays. Try to get the 9am lift and stay up high to avoid the 9.30-10.30am rush hour. Book your lunch restaurants about 9am also. Otherwise expect to be disappointed next week.

Meribel is completely full so book your dinner restaurant immediately if you need one, especially Sunday 14th and Wednesday. We can book for you if you give enough notice. 48 hours minimum.

All ski schools except the ESF are full to my knowledge. So book the moment you arrive or on line today.

NEW FREE SERVICE: We can now reserve your lift passes and deliver to you on arrival in resort. All passes are purchased on Thursdays and delivered to you Sat or Sun.

DRIVING: Careful. More snow is expected. Be prepared with snow chains as some roads in Meribel are now already treacherous.

Tune in at 08.00 to Radio Meribel. 98.9fm for all daily local news and weather.

Live Music. Pick up a copy of Meribel Unplugged magazine and out 3 valleys lunch guide. In all the bars. It has a full entertainment guide in it. Briefly. Jacks Bar, Rond Point , LDV for Apres ski. The Pub, LDV,Taverne, for nights. Mottaret. Tuesday Night Rock party at Rastro Bar. Mardi Gra night next Tuesday. Tsaretta in les Allues a few nights per week also. Try to see "Bring Your Sisters" and "Soul Fire" if you can. But all the bands are good this year. Make the most of happy hour drinks as they are expensive as usual.

Heavy snow is falling in Meribel now and 50cm expected by tommorrow so expect bad road conditions up to resort. Snow chains might be obligitory for the climb up to Meribel.
Last week was fab on Sunday and Monday with excellent off piste powder. Next week now looks the same with clear weather possible on Monday, but more snow possible later in the week.
Conditions looking good for the half term week starting 13th.
