Meribel Mole's May Blog

14.5.09.

Many visitors were shocked by the high prices in Meribel last season. Both in the price of drinks and  food on the mountains. As a result the supermarkets had a bumper season!!
The hike in prices was caused mainly by the fall of nearly 30% in the value of the pound to the euro. As a result many businesses (especially chalet operators) in Meribel have been trying to negotiate lower rents from the local landlords in order to remain competitive  for 2010.
Meribel was and never will be cheap, but hopefully last season was a wake up call for the locals and prices might get more realistic.
Stay tuned for any developments in this direction and more news on Meribel 2010 as it comes in.

E-Mail the Mole for possible cheap deals for 2010, however be warned. 13th Feb. (UK schools holidays) is already looking very busy and is at a premium price.

Best prices will be as usual, Early December, before New Year, January after New Year, and April.
