The whole of the 3 valleys definetly need a big dump of snow but the pistes are still not too bad in general, due to the quiet slopes this past week.
Off piste is impossible..until we get at least 1m of new snow.
Being very cold the cannons are working well..but all pistes are very hard packed and need caution.
My advice at the moment is take first lifts at 9am , enjoy good condiitons for 1-2 hours..and avoid late afternoons when pistes get very worn..
Great skiing yesterday as usual on Saturdays..no crowds, reasonable snow base, even if hard packed. It is now important to ski slowly and look for ice patches and the odd rocks.
Snow is locally forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday and is much needed now. The good good start needs heavily topping up ut luckily the resort is fairly quiet for a few weeks.
Try for Jan discounts if poss..Avoid 14th Feb at all costs..and keep an eye on Late March and April bargains this year..They will appear for sure..
After a wicked New Year's Eve in Meribel, with the usual fun plus snowball fights with fresh snow, we have a beautiful sunny, cold day here. Pistes have improved even though the snowfall was not heavy.Nest week should be ok now with all the crowds leaving on Saturday.
We have some bargains next week..
Weather has changed and we expect some snowfall over next 2 days. Will keep you posted as to how much. We do need it now although pistes are still in reasonable condition over much of the 3 valleys.
