Meribel Mole's February Blog

24.2.09.

UK school holidays have finished and they had a great week. Very cold, good snow and mainly good weather. My last day out was on last Saturday, which was fantastic. Freezing cold, sun, and blue sky. Weather looks mixed for this week.

There are some great late bargains now in some catered chalets so grab a deal fast before they all go.

Yesterday was chaos even in Meribel with the mountain road blocked by stranded cars.

I am just informed that there is probably up to a meter of fresh powder up top and at this moment it is still snowing all the way down to LA.

Barring any major changes in temperature the next 2 weeks should now be absolutely fabulous. There is still some B & B hotel vacancies next week, and the week after.

Book your restaurants well in advance ..!!!

Yes, at last we are getting a dump. We had about 6 inches in town last night , more up top and it should snow more over next few days.Meribel is still fairly quiet for this time of the year, although next week will be heaving, with most accommodation full.

Book your restaurants early for next week,or you will not find any tables free. Lunch and dinner!!!

We now give a free advice and reservation service for our unplugged visitors.

05.02.09.

While most of Europe had snow this week, Meribel missed it, even though it was expected for most of the week.

Snow is holding up quite well with over a meter up top..but we could do with some more before school holidays start next weekend..
