The 2 days of new snowfall did not happen sadly as we now definetly need more snow. However most pistes were ok yesterday but they are becoming very
hardpacked with icy patches and some rocks appearing (avoid Jeruslalem down to St Martin !)
Latest forecast is 5 days of cold sunny weather.

Great bands playing again this year and it should be a fun new year's eve  in resort.

All 3 valleys have good snow although the pistes are becoming worn and hard packed.
More snow is expected over the weekend so hopefully next week will be great.
Meribel is completely full it seems so book your restaurants early for next week.
We can now do reservations for you in resort no problem.

Finally arrived from Greece, via riots in Athens to find Meribel has fantastic snow all over so try for a quick early trip if you can..
Another 25cm fell yesterday up top.
We are set for a great Xmas and New Year..
Great bands playing again this year, so will start next week with a update on who is playing where each week..
Book restaurants now in advance via Meribel Unplugged..uary..
Unless we get a warm spell, snow is going to be fab right through to Jan

10.12.08. 08.30 Meribel time.

Just spoke with Rob Solari at Freeride in Meribel and he tells me the snow is fantastic with lots more coming. Looks like a meter on lower slopes and nearly 2m on the uppr slopes by Sunday with luck. Better than last year and 3rd year in a row with great snow in December.If you are driving (like me ) be sure to have snowchains for the weekend in case. They can be bought at Albertville Giant supermarket cheaper than renting.

Hopefully I will arrive Sunday,(yes still stuck on Karpathos) if the ferry arrives tommorrow and I do not get caught up in riots in Athens and Patras!

If you can grab a bargain for next week, go for it. Quiet slopes, cold weather , and great snow. What more can you ask for ?

If it stays cold then January will be great too..E-mail us if you want some cheap deals in Jan.

Meribel has a great start to the season. Saturday saw powder down to 1700m, with 130cm up top and even more light snowfalls forecast for the next week. More lifts open the 13th with links to Courchevel and VT. On 20th all lifts open. I am at present stuck on a Greek island, with no ferries due to heavy storms, so missed the start. Hopefully will arrive for next weekend but meanwhile I am getting the inside info from friends in resort. But if you can grab an early bargain go for it...

Yes, Meribel is looking great for the start of the season. Approx 70cm up top and 20-30cm forecast for today. If it happens we are well set up for Xmas no problem.

Still bargains around for Xmas week & January but New Year is almost sold out so get in quick.

The band line up for 2009 is great with 4 play, Mullit, Bring your sisters, and loads of others back again.

Next report not till Thursday 11th as I leave the Greek islands tommorrow for the 5 day drive up to Meribel. Let's hope I have to put on the snow chains !! For latest Meribel 6 day snow report just click on it on our home page.

28th Nov

Meribel has had approx 70 cm of snow now up top and the whoe resort is looking great for another early skiiing bonanza.

There will now be a few main lifts in Meribel & Mottaret opening on 6th Dec, with most opening on 13th. If it stays cold this is going to be another good year for Xmas and New year.

Update in a few days.

26th Nov.

Meribel has had a good dump, about 40cm over the last week and all the cannons are working. It is looking great for an early season start and Mottaret is opening up limited lifts on 6th December as are some lifts in Courchevel. VT is already open. Meribel will open on either 6th or 13th. I shall get an insider report over next few days as some more snow is expected.

My friends in Les Allues Village woke up to 5cm approx of snow this morning..which should mean 10-20cm up top..plus more to come over next week..So beginning to look promising for the season if it stays cold..

If we get a good dump then some lifts may open on 6th Dec, 1 week early..

The Poste Bar is still in ruins..let hope Davy finishes the rebuild before Xmas !!

Credit Crunch-What Credit Crunch ? Bookings are very heavy for new year and 14th Feb..Almost sold out in fact..!! Get in fast for these two dates before it is too late.

So, the new season starts 13th December, maybe 6th if early snow is good. Oct snow usually mets as has happened this year but if we get some good falls in Novemebr it usually lasts through to Jan,so keep fingers crossed. We have some more coming later this week we hope..

New improvements are being made on several pistes and lifts,and the good news is that their is finally a public Gym in Meribel, at the Olympic centre.

From now on I will give a new report immediately if conditions change.
