Monday Morning 30th.
It's still cold this morning but with beautiful blue ski and sun.The pistes are in excellent condition although end of the day means they are worn as is quite usual. Off piste needs careful attention due to rocks just below the surface.Weather is set to remain great for a few days..with slight possibility of snow next weekend.
Apres ski: The Rond point.. totally rocking as usual.. XTM, your mum..... both... new punk style bands..great.. plus the regulars.. If you see a duo Huney Fungas featured go see them.. absolutely fabulous.... folky style..... the girl has a beautiful voice.. Often in Evolution bar...where all these reports originate...

fabulous day on the pistes...all in great condition all over 3 valleys...maybe a few lower are worn late in the day...Now looks like fine weather all week but it's cold so snow cannons are going full on..next 2 weeks should be no problem...but will need more snow for the main French holidays...which usually happens year in year out luckily...

Having dug the car out wednesday... had a great day on the slopes thursday and today.... in 25-35cm of fresh powder and perfect pistes..
Looks fab for next 2 weeks now... even though we need more to secure the whole season.
Just been up to Rond point..totally rocking as usual..XTM , your mum..both ..new punk style bands..great.. plus the regulars..If you see a duo Huney Fungas featured go see them..absolutely fabulous..folky style...the girl has a beautiful voice..
Stay tuned..... everyone is over the moon that the long awaited snow arrived .. Maybe some more too next week...looking very good... |
Wednesday 21.30. 24.1.07.

Tuesday 23.1.07.
Yes it's finally snowing here in town at 2pm. It is forecast for all tonight and tommorrow so lets hope we get at least the expected 20-30cm. Sunshine is forecast for Thursday..Friday...
We still have the same great bands again this week..Mullit, Four Play,XTM, Godhead number are acoustic duo..now playing the Ronny Sats..Shibboleth should arrive soon too...(Feb) All in all we have 10 bands playing through this season..great for Apres ski..

Monday 22.1.07.
Weather is turning much colder.Last night the snow cannons were working again for first time in weeks.. Today the pistes were all groomes so were good this morning. We have had the small fall of snow on the upper slopes when it rained down below 2000m. The much needed new snow is now forecast for tonight with 20-30 cm expected by tomorrow evening. I will try to make another up to date report tommorrow.
We still have the same great bands again this week..Mullit, Four Play,XTM, Godhead number are acoustic duo..now playing the Ronny Sats..Shibboleth should arrive soon too...(Feb) All in all we have 10 bands playing through this season..great for Apres ski..

Saturday 20.1.07.
After rain in town Friday and wet snow at the very top the weather is set to change this weekend.Snow is forecast locally for Sunday Monday and Tuesday..with much colder temperatures. Looks promising and is about time. Today this morning was great up top..Fab snow..nobody here....lower slopes were very icy in morning and slushy at lunch..like April.. The scare stories in the UK press were totally unfounded over the last 2 weeks..stay tuned to the Mole if you want the truth about Meribel ! We are 100% independent and NEVER lie ... |
Friday 19.1.07.
After rain in town yesterday and wet snow at the very top the weather is set to change this weekend.Snow is forecast locally for Sunday Monday and Tuesday..with much colder temperatures. Looks promising and is about time. |
Thursday 18.1.07.
The pistes have been empty all week and still not too bad up top. The fine spring weather has finally broken and today is raining in town but snowing up top.Local forcast is a few days of this weather now so hopefully snow conditions will improve greatly for next week. Will do another report in a day or 2. |
Sunday 13.1.07.
The pistes now are getting very worn and icy at the bottom. Up top there is still a fair amount of skiing to be had. Weather is like spring here...hot sun..blue skies..so the snow cannons are not working...Off piste is very rocky. A new fall of snow is definetly needed but if you are arriving next week don't panic..It's not great but you will be skiing each day..

the pistes in Les Menuires & VT were wonderful today. with spring conditions. We definitely need more snow but if you are arriving for next week relax..The slopes are empty and you will find the skiing as good as many other periods in an average season. Off piste is still rocky though. The weather this week is has been a mixture of rain/snow with snow forcast locally for tonight.

Yesterday the pistes in Meribel,& Courchevel were absolutely perfect..with beautiful sunshine to match..Off piste is still rocky though. The weather this week is a mixture of rain/snow..If its snow next week will be truly wonderful..great conditions..no crowds..fingers crossed the temperature drops..

Yes..about 40cm of fresh snow up top with more forecast..Pistes today were great.weather too..fantastic...but off piste is still rocky in many places.We need another meter to cover rocks...However next week will be super for you all...Look at other mole reports for the great new bands that have arrived.....more stuff soon... |

Happy new year and ITS SNOWING !!! We are finally enjoying a snowstorm today.It is dumping it down in the town at the moment...and 40cm is forcast for tonight.. with more during the week. Next week should be fabulous....
Apres ski is rocking..and Meribel is full of good bands this season...Should be some good ski bargains after 6th Jan.. |
