Very few Meribel Apartments have washing machines so bring at least 2
pairs of underpants and ski socks. Plus there is now an excellent new launderette in town, 100m below the Taverne.
A studio for 2 persons can usually take 4 with a push.
A
4-person apartment usually has one bedroom for 2 people and a bed
settee in the lounge area for the other two.
A 5,6,7 person apartment
usually has two bedrooms with a bed settee. The two bedrooms will
typically have a bunkroom for 3 and twin bed room for 2.
Apartments
in Meribel are usually well heated with abundant hot water.
Most
apartments do not allow access till 4pm on the day of your arrival.
If you plan to arrive in the morning try to arrange with the rental
agency for somewhere to store your gear. It is really frustrating
if you arrive to excellent conditions and you cannot go skiing
for want of somewhere to leave your luggage. Saturdays are also
the quietest day on slopes just to rub it in!

Meribel Luxury Apartments
Some appartments are truly in the luxury category, but be prepared
to pay a premium. MGM rental agency has a luxury complex at Meribel
Village and Mottaret. Both good examples. MGM have also just completed
a development at Meribel 1600.These apartments are very spacious
with all mod cons.
Apart from the MGM agency , you may also find a privately owned
apartment for rent with many extra facilities.

IMPORTANT MERIBEL TIPS.
Driving:

Travel tips
Parking:
Parking is a nightmare and now expensive in Meribel, but the underground car parks
near the piste at Chaudanne and Rond Point are available for whole day parking if needed. 1st hour is usually free, if you want a short stop only.
The only free parking in Meribel Centre is at the main Ravines car park in the
town centre, and also past Chaudanne ski lift station, 200yds under
the bridge towards Mottaret. If you park 100yds up there is a pedestrian
bridge over the river, from which you can ski back down to the
centre. However, there is a rumor that this will soon charge too.
If the cops tow you away, go to the Municipal police station at
Chaudanne Olympic centre. (Have your wallet ready!)
Apartment Location:
If you are not driving check out the location of your apartment
before booking. The buses are free in Meribel but very crowded
in high season. Apartments are situated all over Meribel. Try to
get one near the centre or the piste as the resort is now very spread out.

Shopping:
Most supermarkets stock everything you will need for a one week
skiing holiday but bring your own English tea bags. French tea
bags are usually Lipton bags..very weak and very expensive.
The only Launderette is self serve , but new and very good. Just below Taverne Pub..50 -100m..
